Andy Weir’s “Project Hail Mary” is our August Monthly Pick

As summer reaches its peak, our members have chosen just the perfect read: Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir. Weir himself is no stranger to our readers. His short story The Egg came in second to The Great Silence by Ted Chiang in our June Monthly Pick and was met with interest and favorable reviews.

What makes this an outstanding pick is the fact that serious science fiction is not a generally favored genre among ordinary readers (which we are), even less so during the hot summer months, when comedy and love stories reign between bath towels and bottles of sunscreen.

Let’s see how this title holds up once summer is over and we have time to discuss it at length.

Until then, enjoy the read!
