Onboarding
New member? Nice! This page should give you some orientation…
Welcome to the English Book Club Warendorf! This way, please…

We welcome you to our small but cozy book club. Surely, you must have lots of questions. Hopefully, the following paragraphs can answer at least the most urgent ones. We would like to give you the gist of how we organize things around here.
WhatsApp and Socials: How We Stay in Touch
First things first: If you haven’t done so yet, now’s a good time to join our WhatsApp Community. We use various WhatsApp groups as our internal means of communication. There, we will keep you in the loop on everything that is happening inside and around our club. It’s also the place where you can reach out to our members.
As a new member, you might also be interested in joining Chapter One—a group where new members can ask questions and seek help.
Besides WhatsApp, you can also find us on social networks, though we use these socials mainly for public-facing communication and representation. Nevertheless, we’d be happy if you followed us.
Our App: How We Get Organized

Next, it is absolutely vital that you download and log into our very own (web) app. That’s where we organize our monthly reads and meetups, create reading recommendations and discuss them. It’s also the place where many of our peeps hang out while reading. Favorite quotes and votes on what to read next are also available in the app.
Please note that it is a so-called Progressive Web App, i.e. it’s actually a web page optimized for mobile use, so it looks and behaves almost like a native app. You can install it on your home screen (go to Settings and hit Install). Unfortunately, you won’t find our app in any App or Play Store, though.
Our Website: How We Spread the Word
Here on our website, you’ll find lots of information about us and how our club works. In our FAQ, we answer frequently asked questions and explain our “club speak”—frequent terms you’ll come across when hanging out with us.
On Current Reads, you’ll find our current and past reading selections (called Monthly Picks). For some titles, we also provide sample chapters, vocabulary lists, and plot summaries.
Want to join our next in-person meeting but aren’t sure when, where, or how it works? Our In-Person Meetings page has all the important details. Our home library, by the way, is the Warendorf Public Library.
If you’re looking for tools and tips to improve your English, our English Study Tools page has you covered.
And finally, if you still have any questions, feel free to check our FAQ, email us, or get in touch via WhatsApp.
