New Monthly Picks for April and May 2026
Our members have voted, and these are our new Monthly Picks for April and May 2026: Shelby Van Pelt’s novel Remarkably Bright Creatures (average rank: 1.8 from 10 votes) and Oscar Wilde’s shortest short story The Selfish Giant (average rank: 1.63 from 8 votes).
The former will be read in May and June, whereas the latter is only a two-page short story—which will allow us to also opt for one or two of this month’s runners-up: namely, Danielle Evans’s The Office of Historical Corrections (ranked 2.13) or Nabokov’s Signs and Symbols (ranked 3.0).
We will publish any working material in the near future.
